matchbaco is pleased to present “Lambs To The Slaughter”, a solo exhibition by Takayuki Nomura, to be held from April 9 (Sat) until May 7 (Sat), 2016.
Born in 1987 in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Takayuki Nomura graduated from Oita University and moved to Tokyo in 2010. While working in part-time jobs, his paintings have focused on the young workers of his generation and their urban environment.
The paintings lay bare the anguish, conflict and solitude of these workers, and utilizing the “deformed” style of Japanese anime and games, Nomura paints himself as a symbol of modern labor society.
This exhibition is Nomura’s third solo show, following his previous show in January 2015, and comprises new works depicting his internal life as a member of contemporary Japanese society.
